Who is responsible for your data

DrillBit SoftTech India Pvt Ltd is the data fiduciary for personal data collected through this site. You can reach us at scholarship@drillbitglobal.com.

What we collect

Only what the registration form asks for, which is:

  • About you - full name, email address, mobile number, city and state.
  • About your studies - college or university, its city and state, your USN or enrolment number, level of study, stream, course and year of passing.
  • About your entry - the theme you choose, and where you heard about the programme.
  • Your eligibility declaration - your confirmation that you are a current student in India and can provide genuine enrolment proof.

We do not ask for payment details, and there is no entry fee. If you later send us enrolment proof to verify a shortlisted entry, that document is covered by this policy too.

Why we use it

  • To register you for the programme and confirm that registration.
  • To check that you meet the eligibility criteria.
  • To send you the rules, guidelines and submission instructions.
  • To evaluate submissions and contact winners.
  • To understand which channels students hear about the programme through.

We process this data on the basis of the consent you give when you submit the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by writing to us, though doing so before the evaluation closes means we can no longer keep you in the programme.

Who else sees it

Your entry is read by the evaluators appointed for the programme. Beyond that we share personal data only with service providers who host this site and send its email on our behalf, and only so far as they need it to do that. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.

Free DrillBit credits. If you claim the free credits offered in your scholarship account, and only after you tick the box agreeing to it, we share your name and email address with DrillBit’s plagiarism checker for individual users. It uses them to add the credits to your DrillBit account on that email, or to create an account for you if you don’t have one. We share nothing else. That DrillBit account, and what you do with it, is covered by DrillBit’s own terms and privacy policy, not this one. If you don’t claim the credits, nothing is shared.

Winners’ names, college and the winning article may be published as part of announcing the results. Nothing else about you is published.

How long we keep it

Registration and submission data is kept until the programme closes and the awards are settled, and then for 12 months afterwards so we can answer questions about the results. After that it is deleted. Published winners’ details remain published.
